About Us

The Wauwatosa Neighborhood Association Council is the only citywide organization that bridges civic and private groups to help Wauwatosa residents create, strengthen and maintain networks.

OUR MISSION

  • We educate and support Wauwatosa neighborhoods in all stages of forming and maintaining a neighborhood association.
  • We provide biannual support meetings to mentor neighborhood associations and offer a forum to share ideas, successes and concerns.
  • We educate Wauwatosa’s neighborhood associations about quality-of-life issues, city and county government, current community events, and ways to build community and encourage civic involvement.
  • We provide information that’s easy, accurate and reliable.

OUR HISTORY

In late spring of 1994, the civic organization Wauwatosa Tomorrow began holding informal support meetings for the neighborhood associations that were beginning to form. These meetings served as a sounding board for the newly formed associations and were an opportunity to share ideas, report on progress and support each other’s efforts. The group formalized as the Neighborhood Association Council in the winter of 1994.

Today, all residents of neighborhood associations in Wauwatosa are welcome to attend the NAC meetings, and community groups may present to the NAC by requesting a place on the agenda in advance.
